Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, applicants must:

  • Have eligible, related work experience in the agri-food sector
  • Hold a valid, full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a Canadian employer (outside Quebec)
  • Meet the required language proficiency (English or French)
  • Meet education requirements (usually high school or higher)
  • Have sufficient financial means to settle in Canada
  • Maintain valid temporary resident status if already in Canada

Eligible Industries & Occupations

This program is tailored to specific sectors. Eligible industries include:

  • Meat Product Manufacturing (NAICS 3116)
  • Greenhouse, Nursery, and Floriculture Production, including Mushroom Farming (NAICS 1114)
  • Animal Production, such as:
    • Cattle ranching (NAICS 1121)
    • Hog & pig farming (NAICS 1122)
    • Poultry & egg production (NAICS 1123)
    • Sheep & goat farming (NAICS 1124)
    • Other animal farming (NAICS 1129)

Job Offer Requirements

To qualify, your job offer must:

  • Be listed under one of the eligible industries and occupations
  • Be permanent, non-seasonal, and full-time (minimum 30 hours/week)
  • Offer wages aligned with union agreements (if unionized) or at/above the median wage in your province (if non-unionized)
  • Be located in Canada (excluding Quebec)
