\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPhysiotherapy (also known as physical therapy) is a healthcare profession that deals with musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions in both hospital and private settings. Physiotherapists are highly educated experts in the science of movement, function, and mobility. The goal of physiotherapy is to improve mobility, function, and overall well-being through electro-therapeutic modalities, such as ultrasound or TENS. In addition to therapeutic exercises, hands-on techniques called manual therapy can be used (deep soft tissue treatment, joint and muscle range of motion, as well as stretching) or manipulation (a quick small thrust to a “stuck joint” to restore mobility).

\nTo get the background of the injury and identify possible contributors, a detailed history is taken and recorded during an initial assessment. Following this physical examination, the injury is visually and manually examined, movement is analysed, and a series of measurements is taken to determine whether the injury has been improved over time. The assessment results are used to develop a treatment plan based on the needs and goals of the client.

\nOur goal is to produce a meaningful reduction in symptoms as soon as possible. We will discuss the timeframe and treatments necessary to recover from all conditions. We will conduct a brief reassessment at subsequent visits to determine if recovery is continuing and to plan the progression of treatment and exercise in order to maximize function. It may be recommended to refer to a medical or other practitioner if better outcomes can be achieved by other means or if further investigation is needed.
